Call for Trainee Editorial Board Member for Neurology: Education
Neurology: Education is seeking a resident or fellow to serve a one-year term as an Editorial Board member. Applications are due August 11, 2023, with responsibilities beginning September 2023.
Responsibilities include manuscript review, recruiting others to write manuscripts, generating ideas for the journal, and participation in monthly conference calls. Neurology: Education Editorial Board members are expected to dedicate an estimated 4 hours per month to journal related duties. Applicants should have excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including having demonstrated strong writing ability and leadership potential. Strong applicants will have demonstrated a passion for and commitment to medical education and teaching, and scholarly publication.
Residents from accredited neurology training programs anywhere in the world are invited to apply. Eligible candidates are to be in their final year of neurology residency training or with at least 1 remaining year of fellowship training.
Requirements:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- At least one peer-reviewed publication in English
- A brief personal statement (max. 500 words on one page) from the applicant indicating prior experience and future potential in medical education research
- Statement of candidacy from the applicant stating the year of graduation (expected or completed) from neurology residency and fellowship (if residency completed)
- Letter(s) of support from the applicant's Program or Fellowship Director to confirm eligibility and ensure the trainee can contribute the hours/responsibilities outlined above
- International applicants: Please include information regarding English language ability
Desirable but not required:
- Additional letters of support from other mentors (maximum of 1)
- Peer review experience (e.g., Publons verified record)
